ஒரு பொருள் வெப்பத்தை ஏற்கும் திறன் thermalCapacity எனப்படும். Thermal capacity கீழ்காணும் சமன்பாடு மூலம் விளக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

where,

T  = Thermal capacity thermal capacity J/N˚C

H = Quantity of head required to increase the temperature of material from T1 to T2 in J

M = Mass of material in N

T1 = temparature of material before Heating in ˚C

T2 = temparature of material after Heating in ˚C
